Professional Summary
Connie Corkwell is the Arlitt Child Development Program and Head Start Director at the Arlitt Child and Family Research and Education Center. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Early and Middle Childhood Education from the Ohio State University in 1974 and Master’s Degree in Human Growth and Development from Harvard University in 1979. In addition to her ten years as a teacher for home base programming and preschool education at the Arlitt Child Development Center, she taught at the Radcliffe Child Care Center in Cambridge, MA. Ms. Corkwell coordinated the Child Development Associate program at UC and has served as an adjunct instructor for Early Childhood Education for many years. She currently supervises the art education preschool practicum and provides professional development workshops for area child care and Head Start programs. She is a contributor to the books Early Childhood Education: Blending Theory, Blending Practice (1998) and Challenging Behaviors in Early Childhood Settings: Creating a Place for All Children (Paul H. Brooks Publishing Co., 2004).
