Professional Summary

Mark Smith holds a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering along with his juris doctorate J.D.  Prior to entering law school, he worked at General Electric as an engineer in the areas of aero-thermal computer modeling, high temperature turbine design and product development. Coupling his engineering background with a law degree, Mark practices in the field of high technology law.  This includes the acquisition, auditing, licensing and enforcement of patent, trademark and trade secrets. He has drafted and prosecuted numerous trademark and patent applications relating to materials, chemical compositions, software, and mechanical devices.

Mark is an adjunct at Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati Engineering College and UC’s Paralegal Studies program.  He teaches Intellectual Property (PARA 4002) in the paralegal program.
