Professional Summary
Her passion for supporting students began during her eight years as an EducationUSA Adviser with the American Councils for International Education. In that role, she mentored high school students in Turkmenistan through the U.S. college admission process and represented the region at international conferences.
In 2023, Gulmira joined Eastern Illinois University as a graduate student in the Higher Education and Counseling program and a Graduate Assistant with New Student and Family Programs. There, she has focused on developing and enhancing first-year and transfer orientation programs, while also supervising and supporting student staff.
Now, as part of the Academic Advising team for the College of Arts and Sciences, Gulmira’s goal is to empower students to confidently navigate transitions, build community, and discover their strengths.
She loves cross-cultural learning, traveling abroad, and spending time in nature. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her family and friends.
