Personal Statement
"A great physician is one who can learn something, unlearn it, and learn it differently" were the first words I heard from one of my mentors, a critical care physician, during my internal medicine rotation with him. This line resonated deeply with me.  While I was on service for internal medicine, I learned that there was always a better way to manage patients, informed by the latest evidence and a willingness to reconsider previous assumptions. I found this commitment to continual learning to be part of a true patient-centered approach, ensuring that we remain flexible, empathetic, and responsive to the needs of the individual, qualities which I consider to be the essence of being a great physician.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
I had long heard of the reputation of the University of Cincinnati as the ‘Cradle of Medical Educators’. I was drawn in by the program’s innovative use of learning analytics in medical education and the emphasis on personalized coaching and procedural training. However, talking to faculty and current residents is what truly made me realize how supportive the culture of this program is—I knew where I wanted to be the day I interviewed. Lastly, Cincinnati is an incredible place where rich history blends with a vibrant arts scene, diverse cuisine, and a thriving community.
