Professional Summary

I am a nursing educator and education researcher passionate about simulation learning strategies. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience supervising labs, teaching undergraduate students, and serving as a teaching assistant. My PhD focused on high-fidelity simulation (HFS), and my current research explores clinical debriefing in the Obstetric (OB) setting following critical events.
 
As the course lead and clinical coordinator of the Family-Centered Care in Obstetrical Nursing, I have developed a strong understanding of the field, which has helped me to refine my skills and expertise in the OB setting. My approach to teaching involves integrating technology into course material to create a positive and challenging learning environment that maximizes knowledge transferability, clinical judgment, and skill acquisition.

As a nurse researcher, I focus on simulation/debriefing modalities and OB emergencies and have experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research. I have led several IRB-approved studies related to simulation and debriefing impacts on the leadership skills of advanced practice nurses debriefing following OB emergencies. My research has enhanced clinical judgment with simulation & debriefing following obstetrical emergency scenarios, including postpartum haemorrhage scenarios

Research and Practice Interests

My area of research interest is simulation as a learning strategy in nursing education. During my Ph.D. program, my research and teaching focused on the impact and evaluation of high-fidelity simulation (HFS) as an innovative nursing strategy to facilitate student learning experiences.
