Professional Summary

Personal Statement
Discovering unfamiliar diseases and making clinical correlations expanded my interest in Medicine and I found a natural extension of this passion in teaching. As a peer tutor, I found joy in helping others form similar connections, fortifying my own knowledge and communication skills in the process. During a group tutoring session, one student asked about the clinical relevance of hepatomegaly in classic galactosemia. My response synthesized the pathophysiology and presentation of the disease, earning an elated, "Oh, I get it now!" from the student. Learning to break down complex information for others as a tutor is a skill that has also been invaluable in interactions with patients. While teaching honed my ability to explain clinical concepts, my clinical experiences revealed how vital this clarity is in real-world care.
