Andrew L Barth

Professional Summary

Andrew Barth is an assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati in the department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. He received the Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering in 2024 and the B.S. degree in 1999, both from the University of Cincinnati. His research is conducted as part of the Intelligent Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory and is focused on developing autonomous capabilities for space robotics. Prior to pursuing a Ph.D. and working in the academic sector, he had 15 years of experience in the aerospace industry providing engineering support to NASA on the International Space Station, Hubble Robotic Vehicle, and Orion programs. He was named Certified Principal Engineer for the re-entry guidance performance for the Orion Exploration Flight Test 1 spacecraft. His research interests include guidance, navigation, control design, intelligent robotic systems, and manipulator control through artificial intelligence.
