Professional Summary
Ted Boivin is a 5th year PhD candidate in Classical Philology. His dissertation, "Audience and Authenticity in the Historiae and Annales of Tacitus," examines how Tacitus focuses on disruption of communication among internal speakers and actors to depict political instability in the early Principate. His principal research interests are in Latin epic and historiography (especially Tacitus, Lucan, and Caesar), civil war reception in Latin literaure, genre, narratology, and body metaphor.
