Professional Summary
Personal Statement
What draws me most to internal medicine is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients while remaining prepared to act decisively when those relationships reveal something has changed. Some of the moments that have shaped me most in medicine have been spent simply being present—like standing beside a patient's wife during a cardiac arrest, holding her hand through an unimaginable loss. Experiences like these have reinforced what I love about internal medicine: the blend of clinical reasoning, continuity, and human connection that allows physicians to care for the whole person, not just their diagnosis.
Why I Chose Cincinnati
What stood out to me most about Cincinnati was the culture. I was drawn to the program’s commitment to developing excellent internists while encouraging residents to think critically, advocate fiercely for their patients, and never settle for the status quo. The “safe but not soft” mentality resonated with me because it reflects a culture that challenges residents to grow while providing the support needed to succeed. I also appreciated how genuinely invested the residents and faculty were in one another, creating an environment where teamwork and mentorship are valued. Having family nearby and the opportunity to explore a new city made Cincinnati feel like the perfect place for me to begin this next chapter!
