Professional Summary

Soprano Kimberly Brotherton, née Buczek, DMA, is an active soloist and music educator in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. She studied vocal performance and received her Doctorate and Masters from CCM and her Bachelor’s Degree from Ithaca College.

Dr. Brotherton currently teaches voice in the Music Education program at CCM. She also teaches music history at Cincinnati State. She has also served as Adjunct Instructor of Voice at Wright State University and Wittenberg University.  As a voice teacher, Dr. Brotherton is committed to fostering both healthy technique and artistic maturity in the masterclass setting or over longer stretches of time in the private studio.

She has performed with Queen City Chamber Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Ashville Symphony and is a soloist at Armstrong Chapel. Favorite roles performed include Elettra (Idomeneo); Diana (Iphigénie en Tauride); Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte);  Ariadne (Ariadne auf Naxos); Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni); and Magda (The Consul). Buczek trained as a studio artist with Chautauqua Opera where she was the recipient of the Ed Harmon Young Artist Award.  Dr. Brotherton has a private voice studio and continues to regularly perform professionally in the Cincinnati area.
