Professional Summary
Nicole Carver is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College. She earned her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Cincinnati, where her research examined the relationships among human movement, perception, and cognition through the lens of ecological psychology and dynamical systems theory.
Her research broadly explores how patterns of human movement reflect and support perceptual and cognitive processes. She studies movement variability and coordination using nonlinear approaches, with applications in motor control, speech, and cognition. Her work draws from psychology while integrating perspectives from movement science, neuroscience, and rehabilitation.
Nicole enjoys teaching courses across the psychology curriculum and currently teaches Introduction to Psychology and Introduction to Cognitive Psychology. She also has experience teaching Sensation and Perception, as well as Research Methods and Statistics. She is committed to creating engaging, evidence-based learning experiences that help students develop scientific thinking, connect psychological concepts to everyday life, and build transferable career-oriented skills.
