Professional Summary

Personal Statement
In addition to clinical practice, my interest in teaching has been a key element of my academic journey. In my undergraduate years, I led general chemistry workshops where I enjoyed creating collaborative learning environments for my peers. This experience sparked my passion for education and led me to tutor systemic pathology during medical school. Assisting fellow students strengthened my own understanding of complex topics while deepening my appreciation for teaching. I am eager to continue developing my skills in education through residency.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
During my interview with the University of Cincinnati Internal Medicine program, I was struck by the genuine camaraderie and warmth among the residents. A few I met with virtually were sitting together in an office near a hospital hallway, and I couldn’t help but notice how naturally and warmly they interacted with each passing resident who spontaneously joined the conversation. It felt like the kind of place I could truly belong and thrive in.
Cincinnati itself also feels like the right fit for me. Having lived in the South but with personal and familial ties to Ohio and the Midwest, I appreciate how the city blends the best of both regions. It offers the chance to stay close to family and friends while still maintaining some of the southern character I’ve grown accustomed to. I’m also drawn to the program’s strong academic foundation, broad subspecialty exposure, and its emphasis on developing future physician-educators within a large, comprehensive medical center.
