Professional Summary
Personal Statement
My advocacy efforts were inspired by a patient panel with a mother who lost her son to Ornithine Transcarbamylase (OTC) deficiency. Through my involvement with the American Medical Association, I wrote a resolution, later passed by the Michigan State Medical Society, advocating for its addition to newborn screening. During my internal medicine rotation, I realized how this advocacy could be applied to everyday patient scenarios. Whether it was coordinating between cardiology and pulmonology for comorbid conditions or explaining guideline directed medical therapy in plain language, I was able to serve as the patient's champion.
Why I Chose Cincinnati
Growing up, I spent summers in Cincinnati visiting my cousins, and over time it became a home away from home for me. I felt that same sense of comfort and belonging during my interview at UC. The faculty were incredibly welcoming and deeply committed to resident education. Just as importantly, the residents were genuinely excited to share their program and seemed like a family first and colleagues second.
