Professional Summary

I am a second year PhD Student in Criminal Justice with a foundation area in criminology and a substantive specialization in crime prevention. My research focuses are in domestic terrorism, mass public shootings, victimology, extremism, critical criminology, and violent offenders. I have B.A.s in criminal justice and sociology and a M.S. in criminal justice, focusing in law enforcment and crime prevention. I have previously worked as a graduate assistant for the Center for Police Research and Policy. I have also been a graduate assistant for Dr. Corsaro's Masters statistics course. Currently, I am teaching the undergraduate Introduction to Criminology course and I am Dr. Browning's graduate assistant.

Research and Practice Interests

My research interests are more broadly concerned with qualitative studies and terrorism. More specifically, I am interested in domestic terrorism and mass public shootings. Offenders with violent ideologies and extremsist views are my micro-level interests. On a macro-level, I am interested in the effects of anomie and strain in modern American society. Other topics of interest to me include applied sociology, applied criminology, power relationships, serial offending, functionalism, conflict theory, social jusice, criminal justice reform, and ideological studies.
