05-1998 -09-1998 Legal Assistant, Proskauer Rose. Assisted top partner in major New York City law firm. ,

- Summer 1997. Residential Counselor, Center for Talent Development. Worked at Spectrum program for gifted students. Organized various daily and weekend recreational activities for between 50 and 300 students. Tutored students in Biology and Chemistry courses.,

1994 -1996 Youth Director, Bartlett Presbyterian Church. Led and organized group of 30 (ages 11-18) in youth ministry program. Designed and directed weekly learning programs. Coordinated and supervised recreational activities - Valentine’s sweetheart dance costume parties, miniature golfing, variety dinners, movie trips, scavenger hunts, lock-ins, bowling, etc. Spearheaded and directed mission trip for sr. high youth to Reynosa, Mexico. Generated $3500 in fund-raising and organized preparations for trip. Led group of 10 sr. high youth and 4 college assistants to Reynosa to build a house for a homeless family in a border colonia (Summer 1995). Conducted follow-up for church and family supporters – included dinners and presentations of our work in Reynosa.,

1998 -1999: Volunteer, Nirmal Hriday Home for Dying Destitutes, Calcutta, India. Found abandoned destitutes in the streets of Calcutta, bathed patients, cleaned bed pans, hand-washed clothes and bed sheets, washed dishes, fed and exercised patients.

1998 -1999: Volunteer, Shishu Bhavan Mobile Clinic, Titigrah, India. Administered vaccines, dispensed medicines and food to outlying villages.

1998 -1999: Volunteer, Gandhi School for street children, Calcutta, India. School coordinator. Organized volunteer teachers and curriculum. Taught second level English, ages 6-7.

04-1999 -05-1999: Volunteer, Madougou Health Clinic, Dedougou, Burkina Faso. Dispensed medicines, washed clothes and cleaned huts for disabled, fed prisoners.

05-1999 -06-1999: Volunteer, Community Health Clinic, Mizan Teffre, Ethiopia. Lived with Ethiopian family in remote village. Dispensed medicine, administered vaccines, measured vital signs and weights at the Nutrition Rehabilitation Unit.

Gained substantial knowledge and experience in international healthcare: Operation theatre: assisted major surgeries, monitored vital signs during procedures; Maternity ward: conducted and assisted deliveries, participated in prenatal evaluations and follow-up; Children’s ward: dressed wounds, assembled IV drips, administered medicines.
