                                             BIOSKETCH

Robert K. Conyne, Ph.D. Dr. Conyne is Professor Emeritus in Counseling from the University of Cincinnati,a Licensed Psychologist, and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. He compiled 42 years of professional experience as a professor, department head, program director, counseling center psychologist, and student affairs administrator at Illinois State University and the University of Cincinnati. Among his many awards are: Fellow of the American Psychological Association (Div. 13, 17, 49), the American Counseling Association, and the Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW), Boeing Fellow, Endowed Chair & Distinguished Professor (Seattle University, 2013-14), Eminent Career Award (ASGW), Lifetime Achievement Award in Prevention from APA, Distinguished Alumni Award of Distinction from Purdue University, Soros International Scholar to Kyrgyzstan (2007), and Fulbright Senior Scholar Specialist (2017: Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand; 2020: University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia). He served as 2nd editor of the Journal for Specialists in Group Work for two terms (1979-1985) and as President of Association for Specialists in Group Work (1995-96) and of the Society of Group Psychology and Group Psychotherapy of the American Psychological Association (2009-10). He has produced well over 200 scholarly publications and presentations including 28 books in his areas of expertise(group work, prevention, and ecological counseling, has provided broad international consultation in these areas in China, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Thailand, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan and other countries, and has delivered consultation to U.S. military personnel in the U.S., Germany, Belgium, and Japan.
