Professional Summary
I am a 2025-2027 Taft Postdoctoral fellow at the Taft Research Center at the University of Cincinnati. I am a Cultural and Visual Anthropology with a PhD from University of Pistsburgh. My research unfolds at the intersection of medical anthropology, disability studies and visual and anthropology of the senses. My work on insomnia, time and urban life spans ethnography, poetry and multimodal anthropology. It has appeared in City and Society, Anthropology and Humanism and numerous public facing venues. I am also an award winning film maker. My manuscript book Insomnia as Insurgency; Time, Exhaustion and the Politics of Rest in Belgrade draws on twenty-three months of ethnographic fieldwork to theorize sleeplessness among Belgrade's middle class as an embodied reckoning with structural asynchrony, foreign labor demands, and authoritarian restructuring of urban life.
