Professional Summary

Personal Statement
A particularly notable result of my experience as a first-generational college graduate and medical student is discovering that failure is due less to a lack of success than an unwillingness to continue learning while seeking further knowledge. During this journey, I developed qualities that drive me to pursue potential opportunities, as well as a work ethic that has served me well in my experiences as an assistant medical examiner and service coordinator for behavioral health patients. As a lifelong learner seeking diverse avenues of knowledge, I realized that the passive acquisition of information was inadequate for my goals. I wanted rather to learn how to utilize my newly acquired knowledge in the service of helping others, leading inevitably towards my current path in pursuit of a medical career.

 Why I Chose Cincinnati
I originally applied to Cincinnati because a good friend and colleague had suggested I look into the program.  After educating myself with the University of Cincinnati Internal Medicine program I became excited at the prospect of going an institution that is a leader in resident education and patient care. On the day of the interview, I appreciated the enthusiasm and encouragement that the residents and chiefs displayed toward the interviewees and I quickly realized this was a community I desired to be a part of.
