Professional Summary

Dr. Doerger was named the Education Director and the Associate Director of Community Engagement at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music’s (CCM) Preparatory and Community Engagement Division in December 2021.

He has worked in education for more than thirty years as a high school English Language Arts/Drama teacher and as a professor of Education at Indiana University. He recently worked in higher education administration for the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He has published many academic articles and book chapters in the areas of mentoring and school culture.

In addition to his work in education, Dr. Doerger has directed more than 100 productions at the K-12 level and has directed/appeared for local stages throughout Cincinnati including the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, The Carnegie Theatre, Landmark Productions, New Stage Collective, and Falcon Theatre.
