Professional Summary

Nancy C. Elder, MD, MSPH is a family physician researcher, professor, clinician and educator.  She is the former Director of the Department of Family and Community Medicine Research Division and now performs her own practice based research in safety and quality in primary care.  She directs the Cincinnati Area Research and Improvment Group (CARInG) Practice Based Research Network (PBRN).  She is the medical director for the Cincinnati Health Network (CHN), a Federally Qualified Health Center for homeless individuals, and she cares for patients at at CHN's McMicken and Shelterhouse Integrated Care Clinics.  She directs community research for Family Medicine Residents in The Christ Hospital/University of Cincinnati Family Medicine Residency, and teaches research skills, quality and safety to medical students and graduate students, as well as precepting medical students and residents in the clinical setting.
