Personal Statement
As the co-founder of a non-profit organization providing feminine hygiene products to underserved menstruating individuals in Southern Nevada, I am committed to finding innovative solutions to improve access to care for disadvantaged patients. My work with oncologists at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) and internal medicine faculty at UNLV has further deepened my appreciation for the holistic approach of internists, who treat the patient as a whole rather than focusing solely on the disease.
Why I Chose Cincinnati
Throughout my medical school journey, it became evident that academic medicine was the place I desired to be most in my future career. Not only did UC have a strong medical education track, but it was clear how intentional they are about shaping future educators in medicine. I am ecstatic to learn from the best and become the most effective, knowledgeable, and compassionate educator I can. On a more logistical level, in December 2024, my partner of 4 years matched General Surgery at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. Together, we are so excited to take this next step in our careers here in SW Ohio!
