Professional Summary

Personal Statement
When I was eighteen, I moved back to Pakistan alone to begin medical school at the Aga Khan University. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I made. My journey as a medical student in Pakistan exposed me to poverty, gender disparity and lack of resources amongst patients. I had the opportunity to work with several nonprofits and establish the first women’s health department in a small village in Sindh. Learning from these experiences, I developed a personal value structure of empathy, advocacy and dedication. However, having diversity in life is important to me. While my core passion is medicine, I enjoy setting up small businesses and empowering people to look and feel their best through art and makeup. Ultimately, my interests point towards my innate desire to help and connect with people. It is this desire that led me to a career in medicine. As an internal medicine resident, I will be reminded every day that it is a privilege to practice medicine.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
Since medical school, I dreamed of joining a strong academic residency program with a supportive environment and emphasis on patient care. By the end of my interview day, I knew UC was the place for me; I immediately felt at home. Everyone from faculty to the residents were incredibly welcoming, kind and, most importantly, happy! I loved Dr. Warm’s passion for resident education. It really was a no brainer to choose UC. I am truly grateful to be here.
