Professional Summary

Dorothyann Feldis, Ph.D. is Field Service Associate Professor Emerita of Special Education. Dr. Feldis was chair of the special education program from 2002-2007. Prior to this she was Director of Special Education at the University Affiliated Cincinnati Center for Developmental Disorders.

Dr. Feldis continues to teach classes in the areas of special education and autism. Her major interests are autism, interdisciplinary collaboration and teacher preparation

Dr. Feldis earned her undergraduate degree in child development from Cornell University, her Master's Degree in special education from Wayne State University, and a Doctoral degree in special education from the University of Michigan. She also received a Fellowship to train at the Merrill-Palmer Institute in Detroit in their therapeutic program for children with autism. She taught elementary school and special education in both public and clinic programs prior to joining the University of Cincinnati in 1976.
