Professional Summary

Personal Statement
Being mindful of how our actions are perceived is key to building trust, and I have witnessed this both inside and outside the hospital. Growing up in a South Asian community, I became aware early on of the importance of connection in interactions, whether through shared experiences or simple compassion. Since then, I have found that trust can cross cultural and generational lines. During my service trip to the Dominican Republic, a hotel server I had befriended confided in me about her persistent ear pain. Despite the language barrier, she felt comfortable sharing her story, and I discovered a ruptured tympanic membrane which required treatment. I have learned that while familiarity can build this connection, what matters most is creating a space where anyone can feel seen and heard, regardless of their background. As an internist, I will have the opportunity to care for a vast and diverse population of adult patients, uniting them through the shared need to be understood and supported.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
I was immediately drawn to Cincinnati while exploring the website early in application season. I have always been passionate about medical education, and the emphasis on evidence-based learning and the growth mindset resonated with me deeply. I was very excited to learn more about this on my interview day, and I really appreciated how the program intentionally fosters an environment where residents are encouraged to learn while feeling very supported. I could also immediately sense the strong community at UC, and every person I interacted with was extremely inviting, kind, and knowledgeable. I knew this was the place where I could envision myself training under the guidance of the amazing mentors and educators at UC!
