Professional Summary

Personal Statement
I enjoy sitting with patients and taking the time to explain their disease process, treatment plan, and necessary lifestyle changes. I am careful to adjust my approach based on individual patients' level of understanding. I've also demonstrated this ability when working with more junior medical students on case presentations and student-run clinic teams. Analogous to patients, students may become frustrated when they don't understand material right away, but I take the time to explain content in a different way, meeting them with empathy and understanding when things aren't going as planned. During these moments with my patients and peers, I aim to provide a safe and nonjudgmental environment to promote effective learning.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
I chose Cincinnati because I immediately felt welcomed by the faculty, staff, and residents. I could tell that everyone seemed to care about each other as people, not just as medical trainees. I was also excited about relocating to a new city that was still close to my family in Indianapolis.
