Professional Summary

Dr. Khan Habeeb Ur Rahman earned his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering degree from Visveswaraiah Technological University, India. Dr. Habeeb earned his Master of Science and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas, USA. Dr. Habeeb has taught CAD/CAM, Dynamics and Finite Element Analysis courses at Wichita State University as a direct instructor since spring of 2011. Dr. Habeeb’s major field of study is thermal energy storage. His doctoral research aimed at optimizing the layout of a thermal energy storage system using phase change materials (PCMs) in order to get the best performance out of a thermal energy storage system.
Dr. Habeeb has taught at Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, Georgia, USA, from fall of 2018 to summer of 2021 where he taught courses such as Engineering Graphics, Dynamics, Machine Design, Mechanical System Design (Senior Design/Capstone Project), Finite Element Analysis, software such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, and AutoCAD, and Manufacturing Processes lab – Lathe, Milling Machine, and Welding.
Dr. Habeeb also served as an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Mount Union, Alliance, Ohio, USA, from the fall of 2021 to the spring of 2023. Here, he advised mechanical engineering senior capstone projects. Additionally, Dr. Habeeb taught first-year engineering courses, computer-aided design, kinematics and dynamics of machinery, and manufacturing science. Current research interests include Thermal Energy Storage and Phase Change Materials.
Dr. Habeeb is currently serving as Assistant Professor-Educator in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.
