Professional Summary

Hale studied piano with Sylvia Zaremba, organ with Mildred Andrews and opera with Walter Ducloux. He has accompanied professionally in the East, Midwest, Southwest, Australia, New Zealand and Caribbean for many singers including Jerome Hines, John Alexander, Kathleen Kaun and Blythe Walker. His European debut was in 1983 in Linz, Austria. Previously he taught at the University of Texas and conducted productions for the UT Opera Theatre and Austin Civic Ballet, and he was assistant conductor with the Santa Fe Opera. Since 1979 he has been the Artist-in-Residence, Assembly Organist and Chamber Orchestra Conductor for the Bay View Music Festival and vocal coach at the Bay View Summer Music Conservatory in northern Michigan. As a church musician in the Anglican tradition, he also composes church music. He is a certified Kripalu Yoga instructor since 1992.
