Positions and Work Experience
2004 -To Present Research Assistant Professor, Manager Experimental IT, Research scientist/manager overseeing the technology development for application, network, and core services for the Center for Surgical Innovation. This includes management of activities including system design, site assessments, translational research, integration and implementation of technologies such as sensors, web services, electronic medical records, data formats, data collection, robotic surgery and management of technical/medical staff associated with the projects. 1999 -2003 Director, Experimental Information Technology/faculty research assistant, - System designer and flight participant for virtual reality surgical simulations studies onboard NASA’s KC 135 microgravity lab. June 2003. - Chief engineer for VCU/MITAC participation in Shadow Bowl, situational awareness exercises at Super Bowl XXXVII in San Diego.
