Dr. Brittany E. Hayes received her Ph.D. from John Jay College, City University of New York in 2014. Her research centers on the correlates, consequences, and responses to victimization. Her work also examines macro- and micro-level factors that influence behaviors and attitudes. Dr. Hayes has published articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Sociological Review, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Child Abuse & Neglect, and Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency. She recently received both the American Society of Criminology Division on Women and Crime New Scholar Award (2019) and the Division of Victimology Faculty Researcher of the Year Award (2017). In 2018, she received the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) William L. Simon/Routledge Outstanding Paper Award.
