Professional Summary
Personal Statement
Each patient I met crystallized my perception of Internal Medicine as a specialty of profound relationships. We are invited into our patients' lives at their most vulnerable moments and in return for our care, they provide us with wisdom and perspectives that span beyond our textbooks. In addition to the clinical aspect of internal medicine, I felt the most connected to the collaborative culture of medicine. I looked forward to the days when residents and attendings carved time out to explain complex topics like hyponatremia and anemia.
Why I Chose Cincinnati
I knew I wanted to be at an institution where hard work and camaraderie co-existed. From my first interview to my last, it was apparent that the University of Cincinnati Medical Center championed academic rigor and valued interests outside of medicine. Every one of my interviewers asked about my hobbies and showed genuine interest in my entire application. During and after my second look, the residents and chiefs went out of their way to provide information and answer questions outside of duty hours. As someone interested in a career in Hematology/Oncology, UCMC’s robust cancer research background further drew me to the program. Cincinnati’s vibrant pickleball/tennis scene and being the home of the Black Raspberry Chip were the cherries on top for me to choose UCMC!
