Professor Ibrahim-Taney is a servant leader. Born with a thirst for knowledge and a drive for excellence, Professor Ibrahim-Taney embarked on a remarkable educational journey that spanned across multiple prestigious institutions (including UC) and continents. It all began at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, where she laid the foundation for her academic pursuits by earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Administration of Justice and Sociology. Following her undergraduate studies, Nadia sought to delve deeper into the complexities of education and societal structures through her coursework at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts, where she completed a Master’s of Education in Higher Education Administration.
After starting her career in academia, Nadia knew she wanted to explore international perspectives and enhance her leadership skills, which drew her across the Atlantic to Roehampton University in London, England. There, she pursued a Master’s of Arts in Education Leadership and Management. This experience broadened her horizons and enriched her understanding of global educational practices.
This education journey helped land her at the University of Cincinnati, where she started her tenure as the Assistant Director of Career Development at the Carl H. Lindner College of Business. Nadia played a pivotal role in fostering meaningful connections between students and employers through proactive outreach and engagement efforts. She cultivated and maintained strong relationships with employers, facilitating high-value career experiences for students and was dedicated to student success. She always asked herself how she could be in best service to her students, her employers, her colleagues, and herself.
In her time at Lindner, she continued to evolve professionally by undertaking a Master’s of Science in Marketing at Lindner earning her status as a Bearcat Alumnae. She also focused on developing her own inclusive teaching methodologies by earning additional credentials through the Ohio Professional Development Consortium’s Inclusive Teaching in Higher Education Endorsement, further solidifying her commitment to fostering diverse and equitable learning environments.
Since assuming the role of Assistant Professor at the College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies, Professor Ibrahim-Taney has been instrumental in guiding and mentoring Information Technology and Cybersecurity students within the School of Information Technology. Beyond classroom instruction, Nadia dedicates significant time to advising students on mandatory co-op procedures, policies, and professional practices, ensuring their preparedness for the workforce. Nadia collaborates closely with college academic advising and retention support teams to provide holistic support to at-risk students throughout their academic journey and beyond. Her balanced approach to teaching, service, and scholarship reflects her dedication to academic excellence and service to this university.
