Professional Summary
As a philosopher of mind, I work on the relationship between language and thought. Instead of presupposing the existence of pre-given categories of thought, my guiding assumption is that these categories are shaped by varying social structures that influence how we think about and engage with the world. In my doctoral work, this has led me to examine accounts of linguistic relativity, the hypothesis that language influences thought. In my teaching, it inspires students to develop independent perspectives.
