Research and Practice Interests

Low dimensional semiconductors, in particular MBE grown quantum dots in CdSe/ZnSe systems are being investigated using a variety of light scattering techniques including low temperature photoluminescence and Raman scattering. Near field optical scanning microscopy (NSOM) which achieves sub-diffraction limit spatial resolution is being used to investigate optical waveguide structures, including multiple interference structures and vertical cavity surface emitting semiconducting lasers.
