Research and Practice Interests

Broadly, I am interested in utilizing community-based research methods to address health disparities. In my research, I develop and evaluate prevention and intervention programs that are culturally and contextually appropriate for underserved communities. Currently, I have two major strains of research. First, I am working with the Latino immigrant community on a stress intervention project. Second, I am working with an interdisicplinary team of sociologists and physicians to investigate the role of maternal lifetime stress on infant birth outcomes.
