Professional Summary
Personal Statement
I remember one of my most challenging yet rewarding experiences: cycling 500 miles over 5 days along the California coast. Although daunting, the monumental task became enjoyable when addressed in small pieces: planning our route, coordinating with our support team, and considering each mile one at a time. The experience reinforced my desire to take on difficult yet meaningful goals, approaching them with resilience and steady, deliberate progress. In medical school, this same mindset drew me to internal medicine. During clerkships, I witnessed internists address complex, chronic health conditions in a comprehensive and stepwise method. I was inspired by how they advanced patient goals through the systematic study of each organ system, guiding care across the full spectrum of hospitalization and outpatient preventative follow-up. I am motivated to be a leader in internal medicine by engaging in purposeful steps that strengthen patient care, advocate for underserved populations, and lead to translational research.
Why I Chose Cincinnati
I was drawn to the intentionality of the program and its emphasis on medical education. During my interview, I was amazed by the positive culture and the dedication of the faculty and chief residents to the success of their residents. I was also impressed by the breadth of clinical opportunities and mentorship available within the program. I knew this would be a place that would allow me to grow as a young physician and fulfill my career goals.
