Cassandra L Jones

Dr. Cassandra L. Jones is an associate professor of Africana Studies at the University of Cincinnati. Her research focuses on the intersection of race, gender, and memory in speculative fiction. She is the author of Black Speculative Feminisms: Memory and Liberation in Black Women’s Writing is (2024, Ohio State University Press, New Suns: Race, Gender, and Sexuality in the Speculative series) and has contributed to documentaries on BBC Radio and NPR’s the Colin McEnroe Show to discuss Afrofuturism and the visionary thought of Octavia E. Butler.
