Professional Summary

Personal Statement
During my clinical rotations, I have learned that “meeting patients where they are” means understanding and respecting a patient’s state of mind as much as it means using nontechnical terms to explain a diagnosis. I have been lucky enough to have worked with physicians who understand the power differential inherent in the doctor-patient relationship, and who continually strive to dismantle the barriers that separate them from those they are caring for. I was drawn to Internal Medicine because it is a field in which physicians act in partnership with their patients in order to treat the illnesses that most commonly impact their lives. Looking forward to residency, I aim to be a physician who not only provides thorough, evidence-based care, but who also recognizes that this care is only likely to be fully effective if it aligns with the goals of the person sitting in front of me.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
I fell in love with UC’s Internal Medicine program and the city of Cincinnati during my time in medical school. I chose to stay at the University of Cincinnati for residency because I believe the program’s commitment to patient-centered care and medical education will help me to reach my fullest potential as a physician.
