Professional Summary

Personal Statement
While my time on the wards was profoundly impactful, I was also able to complement my training with a specialized education in the laboratory where I embraced the concept of "bench-to-bedside." I investigated skin pigment manipulation in mice with the hope being to lay groundwork for a translational product for those susceptible to UV light damage. This work fed my innate curiosity and furthered my appreciation for all the effort that is required to advance modern medicine. Over the past few years, I've subscribed to the mantra that "students help students," and I'd appreciate being able to mentor students pursuing healthcare before and after admission to medical school as I have done in the past.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
The first thing that attracted me to internal medicine at UC was the sense of camaraderie that residents demonstrated during my interview day. That day I came to understand that UC has cultivated a supportive culture that readily endorses wellbeing and growth. I was also very impressed by the unique teaching methods employed at UC that formed the underpinnings of an excellent training environment. All of this was capstoned by a patient-centered approach to healthcare that I greatly admired. Finally, I grew up just down the interstate from Cincy and have come to love this city. I am excited to train in such a vibrant, amazing place!
