Personal Statement
My passion for mentorship and education led me to co-found StepWithMe, an online platform designed to teach and guide medical students. What began as an ambitious idea grew into a supportive learning community where students from different backgrounds could ask questions, share challenges, and celebrate milestones together. Through this experience, I learned that teaching is not only about explaining medical concepts, but also about building confidence, offering encouragement, and helping others feel seen. These values continue to shape the physician I hope to become: someone who combines knowledge with empathy, supports patients and colleagues through challenges, and keeps growing as a clinician, educator, and lifelong learner.
Why I Chose Cincinnati
I chose UC because it was everything I was looking for in a residency program: a place with a strong growth mindset, a commitment to medical education, and a genuinely supportive community. Having the privilege of rotating here only strengthened my decision, as I saw firsthand the camaraderie, mentorship, and encouragement that make UC such a special place to train.
