Professional Summary
Personal Statement
Hello Cincinnati! I was born in New Haven, Connecticut, but have lived in ten different states and absolutely love immersing myself in new cities’ cultures. I completed my BA in Economics at Hamilton College and, while I was fascinated by the research component of the field, a brief stint in the finance world was enough for me to realize that I would much rather spend my life in a service-based profession. I pursued my pre-medical training at Johns Hopkins University and found a passion for oncology research while there. After a few years in research, I joined the medical community as a student at Drexel University College of Medicine. While in school, I found a home for my joint love of research and desire to make a hands-on difference in patients’ lives.
I am particularly passionate about early detection oncology research, novel immunologic treatments for cancer, and epigenetic mechanisms in oncology. It is thrilling to join the University of Cincinnati and I can’t wait to begin my path towards becoming a physician-scientist, simultaneously caring for patients and their families while advancing the horizons of medical science.
Outside of medicine, I am a big tinkerer and can be found mocking up 3D models of various household items. I also enjoy hiking, turning my house into a jungle via my plant obsession, and trying out new recipes with friends.
Why I Chose Cincinnati
I chose Cincinnati because of the top-notch training and the community. During my interview day, I loved watching the residents’ interactions with faculty and it demonstrated to me that the culture is very supportive and close knit. Additionally, I was thrilled by the research opportunities, investment in clinical oncology, and accomplished attending physicians.
