Professional Summary
Michelle Lessard is a fourth year PhD student in the Philology program. Before coming to University of Cincinnati, she taught Latin in Massachusetts for five years. At Vassar College she majored in Classics and Biology, and she continues to be interested in the intersections between Classics and various scientific disciplines. Her recent research projects have focused on experiments described in the Hippocratic Corpus, on ethnography and marine biology in Pliny the Elder's Naturalis Historia, and on Johannes Kepler's science fiction novel, the Somnium.
