Professional Summary

Timothy Luft is a graduate assistant and PhD student in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Cincinnati on the Sciences Track. His main research interests are in philosophy of science and formal methods. Within these areas, he is currently focused on answering questions about the structure of scientific theories, the role of idealizations in scientific theorizing, and whether contemporary understandings of the unity of science can be seen in ancient philosophies of science. He is also interested in exploring the applicability of concepts and tools from computer science to questions in philosophy of science.
