Professional Summary

D. Michael Malone, Professor of Early Childhood Education, received his BA in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and his M.S. and Ph.D. from The University of Georgia. Dr. Malone has an extensive background in early childhood intervention, interdisciplinary program development, personnel preparation. His specific areas of focus include children's play in school and family contexts, early transitions, higher education personnel preparation and program development, team processes, and observational methodology. Dr. Malone has directed and served on numerous federal and state grants designed to promote systems change through professional development and has developed and taught a number of courses in early childhood intervention (e.g., foundations of EI, contexts of EI, families, teamwork, inclusive environments, play, andĀ assessment). Finally, Dr. Malone has published and presented numerous works on issues related to early childhood intervention.
