Research and Practice Interests

My current research effort is directed toward elucidating the subcellular physiology of the myocardium during in utero development and the changes associated with in utero cardiac hypertrophy. The molecular biology associated with the normal and hypertrophied states in utero is also to be studied. In particular, the isoform shifts of troponin T and its influence on cardiac development and Ca+2 binding characteristics of myofibrils and skinned fibers will be studied in detail.
