Research and Practice Interests
My research group is interested in two major areas: the acquisition of drug resistance of tumor cells to chemotherapeutic agents and the effects of anti-AIDS drugs, such as AZT, ddI, and ddCTP. Specifically, we examine these effects on DNA replication and DNA repair pathways in tissue culture cells, bacteria, and human and bovine tissues. The approach includes combined cell biology, genetic, biochemistry and gene cloning techniques.
