Professional Summary

Daniel S. Newman (Associate Professor, PhD, 2009, University of Maryland, College Park) joined the School Psychology Program faculty in Fall, 2015. His research, teaching, and service focus on school consultation practice and training, professional supervision, and professional issues in school psychology. Dr. Newman publishes regularly on these topics, including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and three books. In January, 2020, Dr. Newman will become the Editor-Elect of the Journal of Educational and Psychological Consultation. He also serves on the Editorial Board of School Psychology, is a Qualitative Methodological Advisor for School Psychology International, and is the Editor of Routledge’s Consultation, Supervision, and Professional Learning in School Psychology book series. Dr. Newman co-chairs NASP’s Consultee-Centered Consultation Special Interest Group, and the Innovations in Practica and Internships subgroup of the NASP Graduate Educators’ Committee, and is an elected Executive Board Member of the Trainers of School Psychologists.
