Professional Summary

Tom Palaima founded and directed the Program in Aegean Scripts and Prehistory 1986-2014. He is a MacArthur fellow for his work with Linear A and Linear B tablets and sealings and the evidence they provide about the societies of mainland Greece and Crete 1850-1170 BCE. He teaches seminars and writes about human responses to experiences of war, violence and social injustice and a course about Bob Dylan: History and Imagination. He serves on the editorial advisory boards of The Dylan Review and Studi Micenei ed Egeo-Anatolici. And is founding co-editor of the quarterly MAsT seminars.
