Professional Summary

Kim Pensyl is a prolific jazz recording artist, composer and arranger who has twice been named one of Billboard’s Top 20 Contemporary Jazz Artists of the Year. A trumpeter, he has had four top-ten albums on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz chart and has recorded with jazz legends such as Toots Thielmans and modern greats like Joey Calderazzo. He has more than 100 published works recorded for Kim Pensyl Music and over 150 compositions/arrangements in the Kimothy Pensyl catalog. Prior to teaching at CCM, Pensyl taught at The Ohio State University.
