TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Dr. Neville Pinto has taught Chemical Engineering at the baccalaureate and graduate levels at the University of Cincinnati since 1985. He has won a number of teaching awards including both of the College of Engineering’s premier awards - the student-selected Engineering Tribunal Professor of the Year Award, and the faculty-selected Neal Wandmacher Award. Dr. Pinto has advised over 35 graduate students on their thesis or dissertation work, including 15 PhD students. Many of his students now hold important positions in academia and industry.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Dr. Neville Pinto directs the Adsorption and Ion Exchange Laboratory at the University of Cincinnati. His research interests are in the fundamentals of adsorption, particularly in the thermodynamics of adsorption, and in the development of new adsorbent materials for biochemical and environmental applications. Dr. Pinto’s research has been supported by federal and state agencies including the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, and the Ohio Department of Development. His work has attracted over $6M in external funding, and he currently has active research grants totaling $870k from federal and state agencies and industry. Dr. Pinto has over 70 refereed research publications and has made over 100 research presentations. He holds two US patents. He has served as a reviewer for the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy, and for numerous scholarly journals. He is currently on the editorial board of the Journal of Separation Science and Technology. Dr. Pinto was appointed by the Governor of Ohio to serve as the chemical engineering expert on the Ohio Hazardous Waste Facility Board. He served on this Board from 1993-2003. He has also been retained as an engineering consultant by a number of national and regional companies.
