Professional Summary
Dylan M.W. Plemper is a first year PhD student specializing in Classical Archaeology with an interest in Roman Greece. He holds a B.A., summa cum laude, from Emory University, where he received the Reppard Greek Prize and wrote his honors thesis on the visuality of a Roman intaglio from the State Hermitage Museum. Dylan is broadly interested in the 'built environment' of sanctuaries and specifically in architectural numismatics and the interaction of architecture with the landscape.
Dylan has been a project member of American Excavations Samothrace since 2024 with Emory University and the Institute of Fine Arts. There, he has worked as an excavator, topographical surveyor, and, during the study seasons in 2025 and 2026, as a material specialist focusing on ceramics and architectural molded plasters.
